who we are, what we can do.

We are Ben and Aj. Friends since 2009. Dating since 2018. Engaged since 2021. Married in 2022.

In 2014 I has this idea to start making custom monogramed frames for my friends and family; over the years it has progressed into much more. What started as burlap in frames turned into bags boards and remodels.

When Ben and I started dating, we quickly realized our shared love for the art of creating and building. In the winter of 2018 we started busting out custom burned signs and our first set of bags boards, or what everybody outside of MN likes to call “cornhole.” These types of projects have remained consistent throughout the years. 2019 into 2021 we started our own house remodel, step by step, when we can fit it in! We repainted the upstairs, cut down a wall and turned it into a bar, which we decided to make a concrete top for. We used corrugated steel from Bens family farm to line the sides of the counters and bar and even built our very own Harvest table with a bench for the dining room that turned out AMAZING! We found 50 year old chairs at the farm that were filled with straw… we replaced the pad and reupholstered them. We used old cedar decking to replace all of our trim, repainted all of our cabinets and bathroom vanities, replaced the flooring with vinyl wood planks. My favorite project in the house has to be the old grain door from the farm we added our specialized touch to and hung over the stairs.

In 2020 I had the opportunity to design Smoke in Lonsdale, voted best BBQ in MN by the Star Tribune, owned by my dear Friend Andrew Rasmussen. With a limited budget I had to think of everyway to accomplish the look I was going for without spending too much money. I burned every piece of board in that building by hand, including the ceiling. We peeled every piece of steel off an old building being knocked down in Belle Plaine, crow bars and hard work got all those nails out. We built and burned every table and used the wood from the the old rickety fence he had knocked down in the parking lot. It is by far my biggest accomplishment. That’s when I really started to get exposure and knew Ben and I could make this a real thing. We work well together and produce beautiful work.

In the summer of 2021 we were asked to remodel CakeWalk in Northfield. We painted brick tiles and bricked two parallel walls, built a new coffee bar, concrete counter tops, used the corrugated steel we got off the building in Belle Plaine for the walls, and put up a new butcher block bar rail we burned and epoxied.

I also enjoy making and designing shirts. I have made everything from from quotes, to family camping trip shirts, Christmas day shirts, bachelorette parties, Jordan Brewers, PL Mudcats, motorcycle rallies, and many for businesses throughout MN.

Ben has the skills and knowledge to be anyone’s handyman. He has completed flooring jobs, landscaping, siding, putting up fences, building privacy walls, and much more. He is the perfect guy for your small jobs.

To say we are resourceful is an understatement. I pride myself on recycling as much as possible. Working at a commercial HVAC sheet metal shop I collect a lot of wood to use on my smaller projects, the planer has become our best friend. When I see something I think I could use for a project, I jump at it. If I don’t have something I need, I look for it and try to make it happen! And this is what sets us apart from every other company, everything we produce comes from upcycled materials and burned wood. Just tell us your idea, I will create your design, and we will make it come to life!
